Access Control

Automated barrier systems for connected vehicle access.

Modern barrier infrastructure connected to ANPR, payments and real-time operational logic. Barriers open automatically. Every event is logged.

The Problem

Where manual barrier management breaks down.

Manual Operation Delay

Staffed barriers create a single point of delay and dependency. Every vehicle requires human action to enter or exit.

Unauthorised Access

Without automated enforcement, tailgating and unauthorised entry are difficult to prevent and impossible to audit.

No Event Logging

Manually operated barriers create no access record. Disputes, incidents and overstays cannot be investigated or evidenced.

Isolated Systems

Barriers disconnected from payment and ANPR systems require manual reconciliation and cannot act on operational data.

How It Works

Automated vehicle access. Connected to the full system.

PARQ barriers connect directly to the PARQ platform via I/O dry contact relay output — compatible with any barrier brand or model. Barriers open automatically on ANPR recognition of a known vehicle, confirmed payment or active permit. Every access event is timestamped and logged in real time.

  • Barrier opens automatically on ANPR match, payment confirmation or permit validation
  • Dry contact relay output — compatible with any existing barrier brand
  • Access rules configurable per lane: permit-only, pay-on-exit, time-restricted
  • Manual and remote override from the operator dashboard
  • Every open and close event logged with timestamp and reason
  • Real-time fault monitoring and status alerts via cloud dashboard

Key Capabilities

Infrastructure-grade barrier control for every type of site.

Fast Cycle Time

Open and close cycle completes in under three seconds. Keeps traffic moving at busy entry and exit lanes without queuing.

Any Barrier Compatible

Connects via I/O dry contact relay — the PARQ controller works with any barrier brand without replacement or rewiring.

Anti-crush Safety

Obstacle detection prevents the barrier arm from closing on vehicles or pedestrians. Standard on all PARQ-connected barriers.

Remote Control

Operators can open, close or lock any barrier remotely from the PARQ dashboard — from any location, at any time.

Fault Monitoring

Real-time status reporting. Instant fault alerts sent via dashboard and email when a barrier goes offline or reports an error.

Manual Override

Physical key override and remote lift function for emergency access, maintenance or power failure scenarios.

Connected Infrastructure

Part of one connected parking system

PARQ hardware is designed to work as part of a unified operational ecosystem — not as standalone devices. Every unit connects to the same cloud platform, sharing data and responding to the same operational logic.
